Caesarea

Caesarea is a small town with big artificially developed harbor located midway between Tel Aviv and Haifa. The city and its neighborhood are considered to be one of the brightest attractions of Israel due to its picturesque views, terrific historic sites and most interesting story.

Caesarea was founded around 25-13 BCE as the port city by Herod the Great and over the centuries was successively populated by Jews, Arabs, Crusaders, Bosniaks and then, starting 1948, by Jews again. As for now Caesarea is the only municipal locality in Israel managed by a private organization instead of municipal governmental agency and is considered to be one of the most prestigious residence areas in Israel.
