Jerusalem holy sites

The holy city of Jerusalem, founded over 3000 years ago, is the main attraction of Israel, one of the oldest cities in the world, know as well as "City of Three Faiths". Jerusalem - the ancient capital of Israel - is a fantastic mix of cultures, historic monuments and sites.


Garden of Gethsemane 
There are several Christian churches here: the Church of All Nations, the Tomb of the Virgin, the Russian Orthodox Church, the Church of Mary Magdalene.  

Jewish Cemetery
The graves of the prophets are found here in a cave with burial niches, where prophets Haggai, Malachi and Zechariah are buried.

Chapel of the Ascension
It is believed to be the spot where Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven 40 days after his death. The main attraction in the Chapel is the stone where, according to the legend, Jesus Christ's footprint is preserved.

Church of All Nations
 Here you can find a large flat stone surrounded by a cast iron crown of thorns. Legend has it  that beside this stone Judas' betrayal and arrest of Jesus took place.

The Church of Sepulchre
One of the holiest shrines in Christianity -  a place, where Jesus Christ was crucified, buried and then resurrected.

The Kotel
Also known as the Wailing Wall or the Western Wall. A part of the ancient wall which surrounds the western slope of the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem which remained of the Second Temple destructed by the Romans in 70 AD.
